I realised that I have a different attitude to the phone than most people around me.
What would you do if you were in the middle of a conversation someone who is actually there in person and your phone rings?
Do you stop your existing conversation in order to get the phone? Or do you let them drop to voicemail?
I'm surprised by the amount of people around me who will just break off an existing conversation in order to start a new one with a phone caller!
Don't people think that's rude? To me it's no different than someone interrupting you. I think that's one of the bad things right now. People prioritise phonecalls, text messages, and email over real "live" people who are right in front of you... grr...

It's been a while since I last stuck my head above water here.... while I've been gone:
I visited some relatives I didn't even know I had near Portland, Oregon.
Got lost in the dark, somewhere near North Plains, Oregon - cheers Mitchell!
Did the Oregon Coast - click the link for pics.
Went to Eugene, Oregon for a geek meeting.
Bill Woodcock and I took some pics of pylons in the Bay Area for Flash.
I came back to the UK.
Then, off to Frankfurt
Back to the UK for the LINX39 meeting of geeks.
Rapidly followed by the "Bug Club" which is another meeting of sad people and alcohol,Excited yet? No? Great!
We also shunned our old kettle in the office.
So, anyway, I find that someone I know online has vanished, website down, not on icq for donkeys. I know things have gotten kinda shitty for ya, but if you are still out there and breathing that scummy LA air, drop me a line, say hi and let me know you're still alive. You know who you are.
I just tucked into a bottle of some decent Aussie wine, Brokenwood Vineyard "Harlequin" 2000 unwooded chardonnay. Quite yum...
Take care people...
